“Worst Ever Rally”
Gather at Bush/Perry GOP Fundraiser Election Eve
DALLAS, Texas – If you have never attended a political rally before, it’s best to start with the “Worst Ever Rally” next Monday, election eve.
President George W. Bush is bringing the tired and discredited message of his worst ever administration and the “Do-Nothing Congress” to Dallas the night before the election to try to raise the spirits of downcast Republicans nationwide. However, the president will find the Dallas-Fort Worth area is far from being a safe, all-red bastion. Dallas Air America Radio Groups is joining with more than a dozen other local organizations marking the worst ever presidency and the Bush Administration’s failed Republican agenda.
Bush will headline a Republican rally for state-wide Republican candidates, planned for Reunion arena. Afterwards he and Governor Rick “Mr. Tax Break” Perry will attend a posh Republican fundraiser at Reunion Hyatt Hotel.
Dallas Air America is doing everything it can to help mobilize and coordinate a protest response to Bush’s visit. For up to date details on the rally, as well as maps and helpful links, go to http://www.dallasairamerica.org/BUSHDFW/bush.htm . Check the site frequently for updates.
The “Worst Ever Rally” will begin at 4:00 PM in Ferris Plaza, across from Union Station. Participants are urged to take advantage of DART and Trinity Rail Express to avoid traffic and parking problems.
Area reaction has been swift and positive, especially among Democratic Party hopefuls and voters. While many at the rally will be voicing concerns about specific issues, Dallas Air America will be there to stand solid against the entire Bush Republican Agenda.
“We’re getting an awesome response from Democratic groups and clubs,” says Dallas Air America Radio’s Nancy Cunningham, one of the organizers. “This is the one thing that local Republicans DON’T want to happen is for them to be connected to the failed policies of this administration! “
In less than a month after Air America Radio left the local airwaves, Dallas Air America Radio has launched a multi-pronged effort to get the liberal talk radio network back on the air here. A weekly newsletter goes out to more than 1,100 subscribers, and the list grows every week. Around 1,500 persons have signed online petitions so far, and some investors are expressing interest. Through online groups and the newsletter, DAAR keeps fans informed, as well as organizes political and social events.
