Pacific Prowler takes off from San Marcos, Texas, airport carrying the Dootlittle Raiders goblets. There is one goblet for each of the 80 raiders, each with their name engraved on it twice. For the living, the goblets stand upright, with their names showing. Every reunion the goblets of those who died are turned over and around. The other engraved name appears right side up.
This year’s reunion was in San Antonio.
It was a low ceiling that had grounded the rest of what was to have been a five-plane formation.
Pacific Prowler is based at the Vintage Aircraft Museum at Meacham Field in Fort Worth, Texas.
