County Clerk putting the squeeze on the wrong people

Don’t those annoying calls from bill collectors drive you crazy? Don’t you just hate those automated, computer-generated calls? Don’t you hate it when the government puts the squeeze on the little guy?
If you have a case on appeal in the Tarrant County county courts, chances are you are getting a little bit of all of that.
It seems the automated bill collection system has gone haywire.
Even if your case is on appeal, and you owe nothing, early-morning calls are shattering your peace and quiet demanding money.
“We are working on it right now,” a county clerk employee promised when contacted over the telephone.
For at least one person, this is the second time around. In the first round, the county clerk’s office sent out letters demanding payment for past due accounts. The payment was not due, as the case was on appeal.
With the sorry state of the criminal justice system in general, it seems that the County Clerk’s record keeping is as blind to due process as the prosecutors are.

Apparently, it now has been fixed.
Only took a week or so.
Seems as though they simply could have turned it off.
