People around the world could hardly help but hear what Al Gore was saying about global warming. Now, we know they actually were listening. Problem is that it is not the rest of the world we have to worry about. The problem is here.
The right-wing cuckoos and Bush supporters (is that redundant?) really have something to cry about now. Is it not customary to honor Nobel laureates with state dinners and official accolades from Congress and the White House? There is no honor in the White House and no organization in Congress. So, the flat-earthers who march in lock step with Boy George Bush - people such as John Cornyn, Kay Bailey Hutchison, Rick Perry, Michael Burgess, Bill O’Reilly, that doper named Rush, John McCain, Rudy Giuliano, Fred Thompson and all that ilk.
There is no global warming, they will say. If there is, it’s not our fault. If it is our fault, there’s nothing we can do about it. If there’s nothing we can do about it, we should stop talking about it and go on with the business of the country. If you are talking about global warming, you are a traitor, as you are slowing the running of our government.
Finally, they will say, don’t talk science to me. It makes my head hurts.
The Gore bashing will continue. Ironic, isn’t it? The Republicans, as dedicated as they are to gore, cannot find a nice thing to say about Al.
Congress couldn’t find a consensus if it bite it in its ass.
So, it will still be up to us in the trenches to help get this message across. As long as we have leaders with a middle ages mindset, we have more trouble than we can imagine.
