It is sad we have lost such a charming, funny, dead serious and passionate voice for common sense and good politics. She might be up in heaven looking down on us saying not mourn her, but we can’t help it.
She stood up against cancer with the same spunk and courage that she stood up the most powerful and vindictive politicians (and editors). Molly would not suffer fools, and was quick to lend a hand and a voice to the helpless.
She will be sorely missed.
Below are some photos from the dinner honoring Molly prior to last fall’s elections. For the original posting on her death, click here. You can read her last column (of course she went out fighting) if you click here.

Molly gives back some of the loving abuse that had been heaped upon her at the “roast? Hell, no! It’s a BBQ!”.
In front of her is her “Molly”. It is the new investigative reporting award which will be given in her name through a foundation set up by the Texas Observer.
